Joey Mayberry Vs Maxwell Chicago

This past weekend at I Believe In Wrestling 93, I took on Maxwell Chicago.  Check it out:

Before the match you catch Trevin Adams interviewing me about my sister Ashley's absence and a bunch of other stuff cause he likes to ask question.  The real winner of this match?  Lay's BBQ Chips, because they got a ton of free advertising.

Here are some neeto pictures:

Teamwork makes the chips work

Yelling: Best way to sell shirts since 1861

I don't need to hold the mic to tell fans off

I do need to hold the mic to tell Trevin Adams off

Maxwell's words made Trevin's small heart grow 3 sizes that day

That's a body made from Mtn Dew and Patriotism!

Ain't knockin me down when I'm all jacked up on the Dew son!

How To Get Away With Murder Double Whammy! He Deserved To Die/He Has A Wife

So it's time to get the ball rolling again with this review of How To Get Away With Murder.  I had to play catch-up because life's been getting in the way of my television, which is just...unacceptable.  But boy did I pick the right two episodes to watch back to back, because these kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time!  I actually fell off twice...

Let's start this off with He Deserved To Die:

Or as I like to call it...We Want Pre-nup!

Michaela's face says it all here as she finds out that her fiance's parents want her to sign a pre-nup agreement before the wedding, but we'll get into more about that in the next episode.

Now we'll get on with everything, these two episodes brought us closer and closer to bringing the flashforward storyline and the present storyline together.  Everyone is getting ready for the bonfire...DUN DUN DUN!

The big shocker that comes at the end of He Deserved To Die is that it was discovered during a second autopsy that Lila was six weeks pregnant at the time of the murder.  That means that she had broken her virginity pact with Griffin and proving more and more that Sam is most likely the murderer.

He Has A Wife offers something different than the previous episode.  It offers a secondary trial where a professional woman has apparently murdered her housekeeper under the influence of a sleeping medication.  Then it wound up being the husband who murdered the housekeeper and made the wife believe she did it...was crazy.

But we also get a more in depth look at what was going on with Lila before the murder.

Near the end of the episode, we see Lila actually run up to Annalise's office and attempt to tell her about her affair with Sam and who is there to ruin it...Freakin Bonnie!  God I hate Bonnie.  But then she confesses everything to Annalise near the end of the show and then she fires her!  Boom!  Later Bonnie!

So breakdown after these two episodes:
Sam is looking guiltier and guiltier.  He's also gonna die soon.
Michaela is gonna have a battle with her future mother in law.
Rebecca is gonna try her best to get that DNA.

I can't wait to get to the next episode.  I think we're finally gonna get to see the murder!

What did you think of these two episodes?  Sound off in the comments.

Too Much Parks & Recreation

So my current obession is Parks & Recreation.  I've pretty much been watching it during every hour of my free time and it's been putting a real strain on my relationship with sleep.

I never really watched the show before I started trying to catch up on Netflix and I'm almost to the point of finishing season 4. Let me start by saying that, may the TV Gods strike me down, I like this show way more than The Office.  I know it's been compared to it, as the writing style is pretty much the same, but I am much more invested in this show than I ever was in The Office.

Every character in the show is spot on and the best part is that each of them bring the funny in their own way.  They even bring in new characters and lose old ones and never miss a beat.

My obsession continues to grow and I may officially be Mouse Rat's #1 fan!

Side note, everyone at work had been calling me Ben cause they say my hair looks like him.  I posted a pic, let me know what ya think!

Once Upon A Time Makes Frozen Fresh

Sup Once Upon A Time fans!  So I don't know what you thought when you first saw the scene above during last season's finale, but if it was anything like mine, you were about about as happy as a squirrel that's been hit by a lawnmower.  I'm probably biased because I work at Walt Disney World and they've thrown Frozen in my face so much that if you shook off my eyelids, you could build a snowman.

I was completely done with everything and anything Frozen.  But this season of Once Upon A Time has completely cured my frostbite!  (Except for the Wandering Oaken's scene.  I worked at Wandering Oaken's Trading Post all summer, so hearing him say, "Yoo-Hoo" was like getting an icicle to the temple.  Aside from that negative, I have nothing but positive things to say about this awesomely chilly season.

Allow me to start the praise off by saying that Anna and Elsa were extremely well cast!  Georgina Haig and Elizabeth Lail, who play Elsa and Anna respectively, are killing it this season.  Not only do they look like the characters, but they also look like sisters.  I'm not sure if they are both just great actresses or if have watched Frozen more times than any 6 year old American girl, but they are Anna and Elsa and I don't think that Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell themselves could do any better.  (I may catch some heat from that.  Oops)

Next up on the praise list:

ELIZABETH FREAKIN MITCHELL!

When she popped up at the end of the second episode, I yelled, "Juliet," and spilled my Mountain Dew.  (I'm a huge LOST fan!)

The storyline crossover between Hans Christian Andersen's original; The Snow Queen and Disney's Frozen is something that I never would have thought of.  I actually really wish that the rumored Frozen sequel would have followed this path.  It's a really awesome concept and I can't respect this season's writers enough.

Finally:

SVEN!

So what do you, the internet people think about this season so far?  What are your favorite/least favorite aspects of it?  Do you like or hate Frozen?  Are you reading all of these questions?  Sound off in the comments!

How To Get Away With Murder: Freakin' Whack-A-Mole

So I'm bursting back with a new blog about one of my favorite shows on TV right now and that's: How To Get Away With Murder.  I knew that I would like this show from the second that I saw the trailer.  Viola Davis is on point as Annalise Keating, like I'm pretty sure that she could strike fear into the devil himself with a lip twitch.

My goal now is to do a recap blog each week after I see the episode and kind of give my thoughts and reactions on what happened.  Ok?  Sweet, then let's get to it!

This week was an episode centered around the spoiled little college douchebag of Asher Millstone.  It's weird calling him a douchebag, because all I keep seeing him as John Bennett from Orange Is The New Black.  Bravo Matt McGorry for being different!

Until this episode, we really didn't know where Asher had been during the murder of Sam Keating other than the fact that he showed up banging on the window.  So this week we finally got his side of the story.  Asher was getting ready to go to the bonfire, as any good college douche would do!  What we didn't know is that he had the ever coveted trophy, or so he thought.  Turns out he's banging on that window because he wants his damn trophy that he "rightfully" earned.  Other than that, we really don't see much of him in the flashforward sequences, until the end when we see him in bed with Bonnie!?  What the hell?  Also, I hate Bonnie, she keeps jumping on Laurel about all her stuff with Frank, when I'm pretty sure she's the one that's had more meat in her than an Oscar Meyer factory.

The main case in the episode is probably my favorite one yet, because it truly shows how evil and corrupt the judicial system can be.  It's focusing on a race and income issue, where a man is framed for murdering his wife in order to get the wife and family out of the way for land development.  It becomes an Asher storyline after when we soon realize that his father was the corrupt judge that slammed the gavel down.

The interesting thing to me is how close the timelines now seem to each other.  Asher turned in information about his father to Annlise in order to get the trophy.  The trophy was taken and used as the murder weapon.  This proves how close we are to actually piecing things together...or maybe we're not, maybe this is just clever writing and there's actually a lot this is yet to be discovered.  Most likely the latter, but I'm trying to be Sherlock Holmes over here and figure this crap out, so cut some slack!

At the very end of the episode however, we see that Annalise has just discovered the murder...or is just saying that she has?  DUN DUN DUN!!!

I'm very much looking forward to next week's episode, because it's about to get crazy in the next couple of weeks and I'm really wishing that the future would hurry up and get here!  Please?

The Shows I'm Addicted To: 10/4/13

Hello all and welcome to this week's edition of The Show's I'm Addicted To!  I'm bringing the blog to you on time this week, even though I don't have a lot of readers, I like to be punctual.  So this week there's a lot of change ups to the list because a lot of premieres have happened.  Plus, I've discovered many new shows!  Also, I really need to start watching Face Off on Syfy.  Let's chalk that show up for an honorable mention!

So to those of you new around these parts, this a week of the Top 10 shows I've been watching this week!  These are my favorites as well as the shows I've been marathon/binge watching on Netflix and Hulu!  So without any further ado, let's check out the list for this week:

10. WWE Smackdown
(Last Week: N/A)

So jumping back on the list since the first edition of The Shows I'm Addicted To, is WWE Smackdown.  Oddly enough, on the first list it landed in the exact same spot!  This week it lands on the list for me because I actually watched it.  I didn't have to rely on Hulu, I saw the actual episode.  As a matter of fact I'm currently watching it.  And it's not too bad, it's done a bit better than WWE RAW in my opinion.  El Torito for Superstar of The Year!

9. Bob's Burgers
(Last Week: N/A)

Making its debut on the list this week is the animation greatness that is Bob's Burgers.  I've fallen in love with this show since I saw episode one.  It really is one of the funniest shows I've seen in quite some time.  Tina is by far my favorite character, closely followed by Linda.  The show is follows one-liners with even better one-liners.  This show is just amazing and I'm super stoked that the newest season just made its fall debut!

8. Brooklyn Nine-Nine
(Last Week: N/A)

Brooklyn Nine-Nine debuts on the list this week, proving to me that you literally can't judge a book by its cover.  I did not expect to like this show.  I didn't enjoy Dads which premiered around the same time, so I kind of wrote it off along with that atrocity.  But after about the first ten minutes I was hooked.  This show is witty and it's a better version of what Adult Swim has been trying with NTSF:SD:SUV.

7. WWE NXT
(Last Week: #8)

Jumping up one spot this week (and getting a new picture) is WWE NXT.  For anyone that knows wrestling, you know that this is the program that features all the up and coming WWE Superstars.  I love it because all the matches are usually amazing.  The matches weren't the most spectacular thing this week, but the storylines were a lot of fun.  I really enjoyed seeing Santino Marella come down to Florida to team with Emma, because they were fantastic together.  I'm also a big fan of the new Bo Dallas Invitational.  Now I know that Sami Zayn already pinned him, but I wish the invitational would go on longer cause I think it is a wonderful heel tactic.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

6. WWE Monday Night RAW
(Last Week: #6)

It seems like WWE RAW has found a permanent spot at number six for the time being.  This week's edition was about the same as we've seen.  I've gotten really upset with this show recently because they were shocking me with some of the stuff that happened, but they are starting to fall in that predictability rut again.  The shining gem this week was definitely the six man tag match with Dolph Ziggler & The Usos facing off against The Shield.  That match was just so good, it really did keep me guessing.  That is the type of match that I want to see every week.  Every other Superstar and Diva needs to take note!

5. South Park
(Last Week: #5)

Sticking at number five this week, the small mountain town of South Park continues to entertain.  This week's episode was full of quote worthy segments including my favorite, "Boo, Boo Wendy Testaburger."  I will say that this episode was much better than last weeks season premiere episode.  I loves everything about South Park, so I'll sit patiently and wait for next week's episode.  I'll have to stock up on cheesy poofs.

4. Weeds
(Last Week: #1)

Dropping down four spots this week is Weeds.  Now this is a show that I'm catching up on with Netflix and I'm completely addicted.  It dropped a few spots this week, but nevertheless I still have a special place in my heart (and playlist) for it.  Now although it dropped four spots, it's not the biggest drop of this week.  (Bonus for whoever can name which show has dropped the most this week.)

3. Once Upon A Time
(Last Week: N/A)

My obsession is back!  I've missed this show more than any normal person should!  (Like I'm normal)  This show has a special place in my heart cause I have a bit of a Disney obsession and it's just a different telling of everything.  I've been waiting months for Season 3 of this show and if you follow me on Twitter (@joeyesrojo) you knew when I watched it because I was constantly tweeting quotes from the episode.  I loved every bit of the season premiere, and I'm a big fan of the kid that's playing Peter Pan so far.  I'm just wondering what is going to happen next!  Well only two more days till I get to find out!

2. Sleepy Hollow
(Last Week: #3)

Sleepy Hollow jumps up on spot this week.  This show has become my new obsession, I am literally on the edge of my seat during the episodes wondering what is going to happen next.  I have a phobia though, because it's on FOX.  Now FOX isn't known to let Sci-Fi shows last too long.  (Firefly anyone?  Terra Nova maybe?)  So I'm hoping this show stands tall and stays on because I'm literally addicted.  Only sad part about this week's episode is there was no headless horseman.  But I have no worries that he'll be back!

1. New Girl
(Last Week: #2)

Last week I said that New Girl was cursed and might be in the number two spot forever.  Well guess that this show decided to prove me wrong.  I love this show way more than I ever thought I would.  If I could marry Zooey Deschanel then I would.  (Zooey, if you're reading this...expect a ring....Sorry Jaime Pressley.)  But I'm almost done with season 2 now, and I need to get started on season 3!  Only about six more episodes to go!

So that's the list this week!  What did you think of it?  Did you like it?  Did you hate it?  Leave me a comment tell me what you think!

Until next week, this is Joey, signing out!

I'm Just Not High On The Ascension

Pictured above are two guys that any WWE NXT fan knows all too well, they are The Ascension.  Making up the duo are Rick Victor (left) and Conor O'Brian (right) who are pulling off this goth gimmick thing.

Some history, The Ascension began way back in the old days of WWE Developmental (well maybe not too long ago, but it's long gone) when it was still Florida Championship Wrestling.  Back then we saw Kenneth Cameron, Raquel Diaz, and Tito Colon along with O'Brian, but it kind of fell to the wayside.

(From Left To Right: Tito Colon, Conor O'Brian, Raquel Diaz, and Kenneth Cameron)

But now we're down to the two men currently on WWE NXT.  Now I'm not going to knock O'Brian or Rick Victor's in ring skills, that's not what irks me.  The thing that's driving me nuts is I can't stand these kind of gimmicks.

What gimmicks do I mean?  The goth/fallen angel/vampire gimmicks.  They never really go over well unless you're The Undertaker.  Second to The Undertaker there is really only one gothic type gimmick that has ever really remotely grabbed my interest:

Yes, I was a huge fan of Ariel during ECW for two obvious reasons...But nevertheless she along with her on-screen bat boy Kevin Thorn didn't last too long.

Back to topic, I think The Ascension are here to stay considering they just won the NXT Tag Team Championships, but they literally bore me.  There has to be something more to them, I get that they're creepy and Hot Topicish, but what do they really do?  There has to be a method behind the madness to these gimmicks or they are literally just two guys who put way too many metal studs on their clothes.

I will wish the new champs the best, but I just really want to see something new before they just turn into reincarnation of The Brood.  Although I do know one person that would make very happy!

(He looks so happy right?)

Here's hoping this gimmick gets dropped quicker than Mordecai.

What do you guys think?  Do you agree?  Do you like The Ascension?  Sound off in the comments below!
