The Shows I'm Addicted To - 8/30/13

Here you go guys!  This week's edition of the The Shows I'm Addicted To!  Every week I'm bringing you a list of the Top 10 shows that I can't stop watching.  I've been looking all over the place: Netflix, Hulu, and of course good old cable and this is what I'm watching!  My current addictions are as followed:

10. Orange Is The New Black
(Last Week: #1)

This week's biggest dropper is Orange Is The New Black.  Now this isn't dropping because it's bad or anything, it's dropping because there not anymore for me to watch yet!  (Which saddens me to no end!)  Even though I haven't actually watched this show this week, the series stays on my list this week due to the sheer greatness that it is.  Please, please, please God can we get Season 2 soon!

9. WWE NXT
(Last Week: #9)

NXT continually brings you the some of the best wrestling that the WWE can offer!  NXT may not have the biggest name stars on the show, but it makes me happy.  I love watching the younger guys go for it, because every week they have to make a name for themselves and I stay glued.  By the way, WWE needs to bring some of these stars to the main roster!  Just saying!

8. Hollywood Game Night
(Last Week: N/A)

New to the list this week is Hollywood Game Night!  Now to tell you the truth, I actually had no idea this show existed till week, but then I caught it and loved it!  The show is hosted by the amazing Jane Lynch and featured celebrities playing various party type games.  This week featured one of my favorites Kristen Chenoweth as well as Dominic Monaghan of Lord Of The Rings fame, but I know him better as Charlie in LOST.  This show kept me laughing and it was a ton of fun to watch.  If you haven't seen it, make sure you check it out!

7. Weeds
(Last Week: N/A)

Another new show that I'm addicted to is Weeds.  Now I was a huge fan of Orange Is The New Black and the creators made this show, so I figured I could replace my lost love with this one.  There's a reason this show was the original, it's fantastic and I fell in love!  Weeds has been out for a while and I know I'm behind on the times, but I'm catching up!  One thing I know is that so far, this show won't disappoint!

6. Phineas & Ferb
(Last Week: #7)

Bumping up one spot this week is Disney's Phineas & Ferb.  I love this show, it's usually how I just relax.  I don't have to think when I watch cartoons and that's just the way I like it.  I think everyone should watch a cartoon at least a couple times a week.  It's a way to maintain your sanity.  Also Phineas & Ferb is fantastic!

5. My Name Is Earl
(Last Week: #3)

Down a few spots this week is My Name Is Earl.  I've said it before and I'll say it again, being from South Carolina, I know each and every one of these people.  This show makes fun of the white trash that we've all met before.  If I had my way, the cast would reunite soon to make a movie!  (My idea!)

4. WWE Monday Night RAW
(Last Week: #5)

Up one spot this week is WWE Monday Night RAW!  Now I usually catch the show on Hulu the day after cause I'm actually training to wrestle on Monday nights.  This week however I was searching massively on Youtube that night when I got back cause I was hearing all the reviews other people were giving and let me tell you there was a reason I was hearing so much!  RAW was great this week!  AJ Lee's promo was greatness and I'm loving the storyline between Daniel Bryan and the McMahons!  Keep it up WWE!

3. Kitchen Nightmares
(Last Week: #6)

Jumping up a few spots this week is Kitchen Nightmares.  This show is one of my constants because I'm addicted to cooking shows and I love hearing Gordon Ramsay cuss at people.  Oddly I don't watch Hell's Kitchen.  But I'm not sure why, but I've watched a lot of it this week.  It's bloody brilliant!

2. Total Divas
(Last Week: #2)

Total Divas doesn't move this week, it stays in the same spot.  This weeks episode was great for me because it focused more on Naomi and Cameron (Real names Trinity and Ariane respectively.)  They are pretty much my favorite parts of the show.  I was a big fan of Natalya, but after the last two episodes, she seems overly bitchy.  And I'm hoping that's not her real personality cause she seems like a really sweet person.  The best part of the show was that it didn't really focus too much on the Bella Twins and their daddy issues.  The Bellas are awful and side note:  The Bellas almost ruined AJ Lee's promo on Monday Night RAW this week with their shrill screams.  Hate!

1. New Girl
(Last Week: #4)

"In college, if panties were snowmen, you would be March!"  That is just one of my favorite lines from New Girl!  I'm obsessed with this show now and Zooey Deschanel is freaking fantastic!  Also, Schmidt is one of my favorite characters of any show right now.  Everything about this show is greatness and if you aren't watching it, I must insist that you change that!

The 2013 VMAs: The Good, The Bad, and The Miley

Alrighty folks!  Well I didn't get to watch the actual broadcast, but like most of the world I have went back and watched a vast majority of the MTV Video Music Awards 2013.  There's a ton of things circulating on the internet about this show, like the return of NSYNC, the crazy performances, and whatever that thing Miley Cyrus did is called; so I think it's time I let everyone know what I thought about this whole thing.

I'm going to start off with the good things from the show:

KATY PERRY FINISHES OFF THE NIGHT ON TOP

Katy Perry's performance of her new single Roar was incredible.  Having it right outside the Brooklyn Bridge in a boxing ring, Katy dawned her boxing best and through a one round KO of a performance.  The song itself is one of my favorites on mainstream radio currently, and Katy showed why she is topping the charts with this performance.  Also I commend Katy on closing the show with a solid performance.  She didn't have to resort to any shocking or controversial publicity gimmicks, she dressed conservatively and delivered a solid performance.  A+ for Miss Perry last night.

LADY GAGA SHINES WITH OR WITHOUT APPLAUSE

Lady Gaga went for it all last night.  Pulling out four costume changes during her performance of her new single Applause.  While Gaga may be catching a lot of useless criticism from celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, she brought the house down while opening the show up.  I was impressed at everything she brought to the table, it was a Lady Gaga performance so I nothing really shocked me because I was expecting the unexpected from the beginning when she showed up looking like a Dr. Who character at the beginning.  (Any Dr. Who fans also think Silence In The Library when the show opened on Gaga's face in the white square?)

Gaga ended her performance with a sea shell swimsuit that made me think that Shakira, Ke$ha, and Princess Ariel had a love child.  I've been doing my research on Twitter and the web and Gaga's performance was met to a lot of jeers and boos from the audience...Really?  We all know what Lady Gaga does, but it was a solid performance.  Gaga gets a solid A from me!

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE ROCKS PERFORMANCE WORTHY OF THE SUPERBOWL

An awesome medley of hits is what Justin Timberlake brought to the table at the VMAs.  Justin was being honored so naturally he gets to perform all he wants, but he got a solid 15 minute set and though out all of his songs.  I was sitting there singing along to everything and was just impressed.  Justin Timberlake has cemented himself as a legend in this business and it shined bright last night. A+ for Justin!

I LOVE VANESSA BAYER

I was so stoked to see Vanessa Bayer appear to introduce Miley Cyrus.  This impersonation is one of my favorites going in.  Vanessa Bayer, will you accept my proposal of marriage, cause you're amazing.  It was pretty cool...

Now of course with all the good, there comes the bad:

NSYNC IS BACK!!!  WAIT...WAS THAT IT?

Rumors circulating for weeks and my Facebook wall was so full of 90s kids talking about NSYNC reunions that I was about to say, "Bye Bye Bye," to my profile,  I watched all of Justin's performance mostly just waiting for this one moment.  Now when I say moment...I mean moment.  The rest of the crew came up out of the ground, sort of like Destiny's Child did at the Superbowl?  They started off great, but then as soon as it began...it stopped.  It really disappointed me.  I also felt bad for JC who tried to get one little moment for himself letting out some little note at the end just to get a pop.  The reunion was nice, but I guess when it comes to the boy band, Justin said, "It's Gonna Be Me!"

I MISS HANNAH MONTANA...

Beware everyone...Hannah Montana is gone and she's been slayed by this demon beast known as Miley Cyrus.  From the moment I saw that Star Trek teddy bear, I knew the storm was brewing as Miley was set to perform We Can't Stop.  The tongue chewing hyena girl then burst out of that teddy bear and began humping it.  It got a bit tamer as she walked around the stage like she had jock itch and chugged 14 1/2 bottles of Nyquil before she burst through that stuffed animal.

The Robin Thicke came out and we were forced to see this...

(I feel so bad for those kids in the front.  Hope they didn't win those tickets!)

We then got to see Miley grinding and sort of twerking (she looked like a drunk ostrich) all over Robin Thicke.  She also managed to find a foam finger that was used to grope everything she and Thicke may have respectively.  I'm going to end the review of her performance because I can't stop looking at the picture above.  Seriously, did she get split on the monkey bars as a kid or something?  How does that even happen!?  Miley gets an F...or more like a WTF.

So those are my highlights of the VMAs. What did you guys think?  Let me know!

AJ Lee's Rocking Pipe Bomb

So did you catch RAW last night?  I didn't yet, but after hearing about it all over Twitter and every wrestling website that I read, I made sure to catch AJ Lee's pipe bomb, or as CM Punk dubbed it on Twitter, a "pipebombshell".  When's the last time you've got to hear the words "Diva" and "Pipe Bomb" together?  Never I think is the word...At least nothing since the Lita/Trish Era.

Here's how this whole thing went down.  We started this off with a match between Natalya and Brie Bella.  It was basically at Total Divas Rematch from Summerslam, with Naomi and Cameron in Natalya's corner while Nikki and Eva Marie accompanied Brie.  I also feel really bad for Jojo who was regulated to ring announcer.  She seems to be fading into obscurity, Jojo just needs a boost.

The match was alright, it was a carbon copy of their previous bout, but the real fireworks came after as the Bellas' theme cut off by the oh too familiar, "Light it up!"  The Divas Champion skips out with a mic and it's looks like we're going to be treated to a rare Divas promo.

Everyone wonders what AJ could possibly come out of AJ's twisted little mind and then she decides to let it rip.  AJ says she saw the previous night's episode of Total Divas and begins to take it right to every Diva on the show.  Saying the Bellas are showing their obvious Daddy issues, the Funkadactyls are breaking up and then getting back together, Natalya has a fiance that's not quite a man, and the other two were also there.  (The last bit was my personal favorite)  She goes on to say that they are all a bunch of useless, talentless, interchangeable women.  The Black Widow clad diva then finishes it off saying that she's watching them walk around in stupid designer heels and they're not even fit to lace up her Chuck Taylors.  That gets a big pop from the crowd.  She adds a wink at the end saying that none of them can touch her, and that's a reality.  She tosses the mic to the ground and skips off.  Boom!

That is one of the best things I've seen in a while when it comes to the Divas Division.  AJ Lee has definately come a long way and has risen, grabbing that brass ring of the division.  The next step from here I believe is a feud between AJ and one of the Total Divas babyfaces.  I think it may be Natalya, but it a feud between her and Naomi would be really great, the matches between those two are always fantastic.  I see it going like this, AJ fights some of the other faces, Cameron, maybe even Jojo, and lays waste to them.  After that she beats either Naomi or Natalya and sets up a feud/title match with the other.  I just hope to God they don't make her face The Bellas...I just really don't enjoy seeing The Bellas near a ring unless they're valets.

I've got my fingers crossed for next week's RAW, and I'm about to catch the entire episode on Hulu, heard it's great.  Keep it up WWE!  And light it up AJ!

Why Total Divas Works For Me

Here it goes everyone: So I'm officially addicted to Total Divas.  If you don't know about the show, it's basically the same reality show format as Keeping Up With The Kardashians, but it's stars the WWE Divas.  WWE Divas are of course the hard-hitting women of the WWE.

Now it's not weird to be obsessed with a reality television show in this day and age.  Let's all be honest here, we all have a reality show we watch, even if it's just videos on Youtube.  The thing that is driving me crazy is that I'm infatuated with this one.  Now I'm no stranger to reality TV, I've been addicted to American Idol, Kitchen Nightmares, Ace of Cakes, and Chopped, not all at the same time, but I've had my runs with all of them.  But this type of reality show has never been my thing.  I call the the E! and MTV format reality shows, cause if you actually look at them, they're the same thing with different people.

Now I'm asking myself, "Why Am I Addicted To This One!?"

Anyone that knows me knows that I'm addicted to professional wrestling and I'm a WWE Fan.  I'm even currently training to be a professional wrestler.  So the show does spark my interest there and I feel it does the same with many wrestling fans.  There's just one thing, what makes me care about the lives of these women and the men they're dating outside of the ring?  I think it has to deal with one thing: they are actually doing something!

If you look at Keeping Up With The Kardashians or any of the Real Housewives these are people that are basically famous for being rich and a lot of them were just born/married into their wealth, the did nothing to earn it.  I really don't care about the lives of rich lazy people.  If I wanted to watch women blow their money and make catty remarks at each other, I'd just go sit in a Nordstrom for an hour.

The thing that sets Total Divas apart from the rest is that these women are actually working to make something of themselves, they are wrestlers.  You get to see the backstage antics and stuff, it's kind of like a weekly DVD commentary or behind the scenes.  This is what makes this fun to watch, they actually have interesting lives.  I'm not sitting around watching them debate on which bag to purchase their doggie to they can tote him on the plane, I'm watching them figure out matches and set up their careers.

I mean this is what makes me tune in.  I'm actually getting to see people with extremely interesting careers and how it shapes their lives.  I think that is the reason for the rise in popularity of Duck Dynasty as well, we like interesting people.  I think America is finally tired of watching smug, rich celebrites...well for the most part.  We're finally getting back to the point of wanting to see entertaining people and I"m all for it!

Come Sunday though, one way or another, I'll be glued to my TV, ready to catch some more Total Divas.

Song Of The Week - Gold Rush by Clinton Sparks feat. 2 Chainz, Macklemore, and D.A.

What song is my jam this week?  Well I'm going let you guys know what song I find awesome each week!

This Week's Song Is:

Gold Rush by Clinton Sparks feat. 2 Chainz, Macklemore, and D.A.

The Shows I'm Addicted To - 8/23/13

So here it is guys!  This week's addition of The Shows I'm Addicted To!  After watching way too much TV, mostly before I fall asleep with about 3hrs before I have to wake up for work, I have compiled a list of my favorite shows!  With Netflix, Hulu, and of course television at my disposal, here are my current addictions:

10. 3rd Rock From The Sun
(Last week: #5)

So haven't actually gotten to watch an episode this week.  I've been catching up on this via Hulu since it's close to a decade old now.  This show is still hilarious and none of the references are dated which is nice.  I have to get back into it, cause it is truly a gem.

9. WWE NXT
(Last week: #8)

As I've stated before, NXT is my favorite brand of wrestling that WWE has.  It may not have the flashy lights and glamour of Monday Night RAW, but it offers a solid product every single week.  Some of my favorite NXT Superstars right now include:  Tyler Breeze, Paige, Enzo Amore, Emma, and Leo Kruger.

8. Cake Boss
(Last Week: N/A)

This one I'm blaming entirely on my roommate Kati.  I sat down to look at a neat cake that looked like a zombie and then never got up.  This show is great, even though I really hate how the guy says fondant.  I was a big fan of Ace Of Cakes on the Food Network and was really upset when it was cancelled, so this is the next best thing for me!

7. Phineas & Ferb
(Last Week: #7)

Phineas and Ferb is still my favorite children's cartoon series going, it feels like I'm back in the 90s with my bowl of cereal.  Also Dr. Doofenshmirtz might be one of my favorite characters in anything.

6. Kitchen Nightmares
(Last Week: #6)

Kitchen Nightmares is still great.  It makes me want to open a restaurant just so Gordon Ramsey can come yell to me.  Also it makes me never want to eat out again.

5. WWE Monday Night RAW
(Last Week: #4)

Every week I either watch RAW or catch up on Hulu.  This past week's RAW was great, I'm really enjoying the Daniel Bryan storyline.  He was totally robbed at Summerslam!

4. New Girl
(Last Week: N/A)

This show has become an obsession over the past week.  It really upsets me that I'm catching up on it via Netflix.  Zooey Deschanel and the rest of the cast shine, I can't stop laughing.  Also this show might have one of my favorite theme songs ever.  "Who's that girl?  It's Jess!"

3. My Name Is Earl
(Last Week: #3)

I can't handle how much this show cracks me up.  There's not one character that isn't played to a T.  Just got to the middle of season 1 this week.  The Christmas episode had me dying.  "Oh no it's a negro, we must getting robbed!"  I want to marry Jaime Pressley.

2. Total Divas
(Last Week: #2)

Still my guilty pleasure.  Part of me wishes I didn't like this show as much as I do.  This weeks episode dealing with Natalya's relationship and Ariane''s (Cameron's) boob issues was great.  When Cameron lost a fake boob in the pool though, Naomi had me rolling with, "Those things float.  Who knew?!"  Greatness!

1. Orange Is The New Black
(Last Week: #1)

So much like last week this show has amazed me from start to finish!  So not like last week, I'm kind of bittersweet to be listing this as my number one.  Not because it doesn't deserve it, but because I finished the first season and season two isn't here yet!  I want to see more, there needs to be more of this show in my life!  Season two can't get here soon enough!

The Shows I'm Addicted To - 8/13/13

Introducing something to new!  Here are my Top 10 Shows that I'm obsessed with watching right now!  Now these are on Netflix, Hulu, and of course television!  Here's my guide!  I'll post it weekly, maybe it'll change, maybe it won't!  Enjoy!

Let's start with #10!

10. WWE Smackdown
Got to love Smackdown!  It's like the highlights of RAW, but with some storyline continuations as well.  But always try to catch Smackdown, cause you can expect the unexpected!

9. WWE Superstars
Superstars is one of my favorite because you get to see a lot of WWE's minor and mid-card wrestlers which are some of my favorites.  Always nice to see some solid eight minute matches and see what some of the guys you don't see so often you can do.

8. WWE NXT
NXT is one of my favorites because the matches are always great and the small crowd really gets into it!  Always exciting to see!

7. Phineas & Ferb
Always have fun watching Phineas and Ferb.  It's the one current cartoon that takes me back to my childhood, it has a real 90s feel to it.  Never too old for cartoons!

6. Kitchen Nightmares
Gordon Ramsey doing anything makes me happy!  Maybe it's just the cursing and the British Accent, but I've been watching this show obsessively.  But I always wind up cooking afterwards.

5. 3rd Rock From The Sun
I'm really disappointed I missed this show growing up, but like it more now that I'm older and get all the jokes.  This show is rapid fire fun to watch.  Grab some popcorn and just get ready to laugh.

4. WWE Raw
I always try to catch RAW!  I'm never home on Monday nights cause I'm ironically in wrestling training.  But I catch it on Hulu.  Been a constant for me since I was about 10 years old.  That's saying something!

3. My Name Is Earl
Another show I'm mad I didn't watch when it was on.  This show has me cracking up the whole time I'm watching it.  Maybe cause I"m from a small South Carolina town, so I know some of these people...

2. Total Divas
This show is my guilty pleasure.  I normally don't like this kind of reality show, but with the WWE tied in and getting to see all the backstage lives, it's just like crack.  It just kind of makes me hate John Cena more though...

1. Orange Is The New Black
This show is brilliant!  It's a Netflix original and I can't get enough of it!  The characters are fantastic and played to a T.  It's funny, and the drama of it just keeps you hooked.  If you're not able to watch this due to lack of Netflix, either purchase Netflix or find a friend who has it!
